new year

 

If someone would have told me last January that within the year I would…..

-run a half marathon

-lose but also gain many best friends

-go to Hawaii twice

-become best friends with Chelsee stone

-move out and into an apartment in Provo

-Cause as well as experience broken heart

-have Haley Needs as a roommate

-work 3 different jobs

-have mystery sicknesses trying to find a diagnosis

-survive my first semester of college

-learn a lot about life naturally or the hard way

-become best friends with my sister so I miss her instead of want to beat her up

-go to Washington for 24 hours for a trip

-have my best friend Lauren Ockey pee on me to save me from a jellyfish sting

-graduate high school

-become friends in college with people from high school I never was before

-go to san Francisco for an art history tour and pass the AP test

-lose loved ones unexpectedly

-realize I can survive a whole summer on about 4 hours of sleep a night

-be an aunt again to two new nieces on the way

-have some of my best friends leave on missions

-hit a deer and almost total my car

-attend mission prep for an institute class

-get my best grade in math my hardest class and my worst grade in history one of my easiest

-meet new friends that I like as much as my old ones

-realize how blessed I am to have the gospel in my life with great friends who are good examples and guy friends who honor their preisthood

…..I never would have believed them.

But if someone also would have told me that after all the learning experiences I’ve had through out 2010, I could still be as happy as I am right now, I wouldn’t have believed that either. I’m grateful for all the trials, triumphs, and blessings in my life the past year. Because without every single one of them, I wouldn’t be the person I am today and I wouldn’t know as much about life or myself.. so bring on 2011, full of hope, excitement, and mystery. And cheers to a new year, and another chance to get it right.
